What is Apple Shared Albums?
Apple Shared Albums is a feature that allows users to easily share photos and videos with a select group of people known as subscribers.
To create a shared album on your iPhone, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings and turn on Shared Albums.
- Open the Photos app and navigate to the Albums tab.
- Click on the plus sign and select "New Shared Album."
- Name the album and invite people to join by typing in their names or email addresses.
- You can invite more subscribers by clicking on the person icon at the top of the screen.
- Turn on notifications if you want to be alerted when someone shares photos or an album.
Pros and Cons of Shared Albums
Pros:
- Easy sharing of photos with family members and friends
- Convenient way to save others' photos to your library
Cons:
- Limited options for displaying photos
- Difficult to determine which photos belong to you
- No ability to customize the key photo or front photo
- Challenging to download photos from iCloud
- Can become disorganized with a large number of photos and multiple albums
It is advisable to avoid letting a large number of photos accumulate in shared albums. Instead, it's recommended to curate and organize these memories in your Master Family Folder.
