What is Photo Metadata?
Photo metadata is the information embedded in a photo file, such as date, time, camera settings, and location. Here's how you can edit photo metadata using different software tools:
- Windows File Explorer:
- Right-click on the desired photo file and select "Properties."
- Edit fields like date taken, tags, and comments in the Properties dialog.
- Alternatively, use the File Explorer Details pane for a quick view and edit.
- Mac Photos:
- Right-click on the photo in the Photos program and select "Get Information."
- Add a caption and keywords in the Info window.
- To change the date taken, select the photos, go to the top menu, click "Image," choose "Adjust Date and Time," and update as needed.
- Mylio:
- You can add captions, keywords, and change the date taken in the info panel.
- However, for both Mylio and Mac Photos, there is only one way for other people to view this metadata. The photos must be exported from the programs with the metadata included.
- Forever® Permanent Photo Storage:
- Forever provides a simpler solution for editing and sharing photo metadata.
- You can easily edit metadata including descriptions and tags.
- When you share the link of the photo with someone, they will see exactly the metadata you’ve added.
Editing metadata is important, you can manage and share your photo information easily to loved ones.
